The authoritative online record of American Bulldog pedigrees, maintained by Lesli Rose, co-owner of the American Bulldog Registry and Archives (ABRA) since 2005 and a breeder since 1998. The archive holds 44,818+ dog records with full lineage, health testing, and show history.
Since 1998, every dog entered into our books has been a thread in a much larger tapestry. Now, for the first time, that tapestry is being woven together in one place, online, accessible to everyone who loves this breed, and it will be there for everyone who ever will.
A database stores records. An archive preserves a living history.
When you create a profile for your dog on the American Bulldog Archive, you are doing something far more significant than filling out a form. You are placing your dog, their name, their face, their story, into a permanent record that will outlast all of us. You are saying: this dog existed. This dog mattered. This dog is part of the American Bulldog story.
Every record in the Archive traces to a verifiable source: ABRA registration records going back to 1998, pedigrees submitted directly by breeders, and historical stud books and archives from the breed's early registries. Records are reviewed before they publish. Nothing here is scraped from other databases.
That is the difference between an archive and an aggregator. When a record conflicts with another source, we go back to the paperwork. The COI calculator runs on this verified lineage data, which is why breeders trust its numbers.
The American Bulldog has faced more than its share of challenges. Breed-specific legislation. Misconceptions. The slow erosion of bloodlines when records are lost, kennels close, and breeders pass on without a way to preserve what they built.
When a breeder who has spent 30 years perfecting a line closes their kennel, what happens to that history? When a beloved dog passes, who remembers them? When a family loses the papers for their registered American Bulldog, where do they turn?
The American Bulldog Archive is the answer. A permanent, community-built record that cannot be lost in a house fire, a computer crash, or the passage of time. Every dog entered here is protected. Every kennel memorialized. Every bloodline traceable.
Think about what a complete dog profile means. Not just a name and a registration number, but photos across their lifetime. The story of how they came to be. Health test results that inform every breeding decision for generations to come. A pedigree that connects them backward through decades of carefully bred dogs, and forward to every puppy they produced.
That profile is the fabric of the history we are documenting together.
The American Bulldog Archive is not built by one person. It is built by all of us, every owner who registers their dog, every breeder who uploads their litter records, every enthusiast who adds a photo or a story to a profile.
This is a community archive. It belongs to the breed and to everyone who loves it. The more of us who contribute, the richer and more complete the record becomes. A single dog's profile becomes more meaningful when connected to dozens of others. A kennel's legacy becomes visible when its dogs are all gathered in one place. The entire history of the American Bulldog becomes something extraordinary when we all take part in preserving it.
This is how a community takes care of its own heritage.
To every breeder who has dedicated years, or decades, to the American Bulldog: your work deserves to be remembered.
The kennel you built. The lines you developed. The champions you produced. The hard decisions you made in service of the breed's health and integrity. All of it belongs in this archive. All of it is worth preserving. All of it will be here, for the breeders who come after you, learning from what you built.
The American Bulldog Archive is how you memorialize your kennel, your dogs, and your contribution to this breed. Long after you are gone, the work you did will still be here, teaching, inspiring, and connecting future generations to the foundation you laid.
This is the American Bulldog Archive. Not just a place to search pedigrees. A place to honor lives. To document history. To ensure that every American Bulldog who ever lived, and every person who loved them, leaves a mark on the story of this remarkable breed.
Lance and Lesli Rose acquired the American Bulldog Registry & Archives in 2005 from founders Tony Mancera, Vern Hopley, and Rob Armour. At the time, the Roses operated the largest American Bulldog website in the world, American Bulldog Resources, and Lesli served as an ABNA and NKC judge and ABNA representative.
In 2001, they hosted the first American Bulldog show in Canada, the Rosebull Parade, sanctioned by the ABNA. Together they raised four kids, hundreds of bulldogs, and judged thousands of bulldogs across Canada, the USA, Germany, Denmark, Russia, England, France, Hungary, and Italy.
Add your dog. Write their story. Upload their photos. Help preserve the history of the American Bulldog.
