Irondog Registered American Bulldogs
Irondog has been Australia's official American Bulldog registry since 1993, with records going back to 1950.
History and Names
Irondog has operated under several names over the years:
- NABR (National American Bulldog Registry)
- ABRA (Australian -- not to be confused with the North American ABRA)
- ABCA
- Irondog (current name)
The ARF named Irondog as its official successor in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere, giving it direct lineage to the very first American Bulldog registrations.
Breed Types Recognized
Irondog recognizes five distinct types:
- Classic
- Standard
- Johnson
- Performance
- Performance Johnson Hybrid
Partnerships
Irondog partners with the True American Bulldog Original Club of Australia and issues some of the longest pedigrees in the world -- a testament to the depth of their records.
The Irondog Pentathlon
The Irondog Pentathlon is one of the most comprehensive evaluations in the breed, testing five disciplines:
- Sprint -- raw speed and acceleration
- Stamina -- endurance over distance
- Obedience -- training and handler responsiveness
- Conformation -- breed standard structure
- Working instinct -- natural drive and ability
Dual Registration with ABRA
Australian breeders dual register their dogs with ABRA to ensure their pedigrees are preserved in the world's largest American Bulldog archive.
